Incident Summary Day Shift Sunday 15th July

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Whitley, Selby TOC: 07:37

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire in the woods. Crews damped down area and extinguished fire using 1 hose reel.

Brandsby Bank, Brandsby TOC: 09:02

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire in a wooded area. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning. No action required by Fire Service.

Potter Brompton TOC: 10:48

Crew were mobilised to report of a Baler on fire in a field. This spread to surrounding stubble and hay. Crews extinguished using 3 hose reels, beaters and knapsack sprayers.

Wistow, Selby TOC: 11:09

Crew were mobilised to a report of a bonfire with smoke affecting surrounding properties. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning, owner in attendance and given advice by fire service.

Harrogate TOC: 11:40

Crew were mobilised to a report of a person locked out of his premises, who required access to their medication. Crews gained access using a 9 metre ladder.

Harrogate TOC: 12:03

Crew were mobilised to a report of a small camp fire in woods that had been left unattended. Crews extinguished using manpower and soil.

Egton, Whitby TOC: 12:17

Crew were mobilised to a report of a bonfire which spread to hedgerow. Accidental due to controlled burning spread to hedge.

Skipton TOC: 12:50

Crew were mobilised to a report of a person stuck in a public toilet due to the handle snapping inside. Crew attended and used manpower to release person.

Hartoft, Pickering TOC: 13:18

Crew were mobilised to a report of a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. All persons were out on arrival of fire service. Crews made scene safe using Drizzit pads and small tools.

Preston Under Scar TOC: 13:56

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire in the open. This was loose hay in a field, extinguished using 1 hose reel and pitchforks.

Near Thirsk Racecourse TOC: 14:18

Crew were mobilised to a large amount of cut hay and stubble in field. Extinguished using 4 hose reels.

Catterick Racecourse TOC: 14:22

Crew were mobilised to a large amount of cut hay and stubble in field. Extinguished using 1 hose reel and beaters.

Nether Poppleton TOC: 14:37

Crew were mobilised to a report of grass and trees on fire. Extinguished using 1 hose reel.

Eggborough TOC: 15:03

Crew were mobilised to a large grass fire in field. Crews extingusihed using 2 hose reels and beaters. Cause is believed to have been due to a BBQ.

 A1, Hackforth TOC: 15:58

Crew were mobilised to a report of a large fire in a field spreading to the scrub at the side of the A1 northbound carriageway. Crews extinguished using 4 hose reels and numerous beaters. Police and Highways in attendance due to traffic management and smoke across carriageway.

Skipton TOC: 16:26

Water leak in property isolated by Fire service officer.
