Please see below a round up of incidents from Friday 20th July Day Shift

Dodsworth Avenue, York  Time 10:39

 


 

A crew from Acomb extinguished a small fire in the open to a grass land area. Crews used one bucket of water.

 


 

Lucas Avenue, York  Time 11:11

 


 

A crew from Huntington extinguished a fire to a skip containing building materials using a hose reel jet.

 

 

 

Balne, Selby  Time 13:08

 


 

Crews from Selby and Snaith extinguished a fire approximately ten square meters of tree branches. The crews used two hose reel jets and pitchforks. The cause is believed to be deliberate.

 


 

River Ouse, Selby  Time 13:28

 


 

Crews from York recovered a stranded boat on the river after the engine had overheated. The crews from York used their boat to tow the vessel to safety and left it in the care of the lock keeper.

 

 

 

Harwood Dale, Scarborough  Time 14:06

 

 

 

Crews from Scarborough, Filey and Whitby extinguished a fire to pile of tyres that had flared up. The fire then spread to a nearby building. The crews used hose reel jets and checked the area over with thermal imaging cameras to confirm the fire was out.

 

 

 

Carrfield, York  Time 14:12

 

 

 

Crews from Acomb and Huntington attended a property where a fire in the roof was reported.  The crews removed roof tiles to access the fire and were able to extinguish using a hose reel jet. Thermal imaging cameras were used to confirm the fire was out.

 

 

 

Harrogate Fire Station, Harrogate  Time 16:39

 

 

A member of the public was brought to the station having suffered a respiratory attack. Crews provided first aid until and ambulance arrived. The casualty was then taken by road ambulance to hospital.
