Incident Summary Night Shift Thursday 19th July 2018

20th July 2018

 In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Rillington, Malton

Time of call: 17:16

Crews from Malton and Pickering were called to a combine harvester on fire inside a barn. This caused 75% fire damage to the engine compartment and slight charring to the roof of the barn. Crews extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel jet.

Burnside Avenue, Skipton

Time of call: 19:38

A crew from Skipton were called to a report of a fire in the garden of a residential property. This was controlled burning which was under supervision and no action was require from the Fire Service.

Barlby Road, Barlby

Time of call: 20:18

A crew from Selby were called to a report of a fire in the open. This was a fire to a small amount of cut shrubs and wood, believed to be have been deliberately started.  The crews used  one hose reel and a pitchfork to extinguish the fire.

Barlby Road, Barlby

Time of call: 21:29

A crew from Selby were called to a jetty post on fire. The fire was to an area of less than one square metre and was believed to have been deliberate. Crews used one hose reel to extinguish this.

Broughton Road, Malton

Time of call: 21:53

A crew from Malton were called to a report of a shed on fire. This was controlled burning under supervision and no action was taken by the Fire Service.

Scriven

Time of call: 21:56

A crew from Knaresborough were called to a fire in the open. This was controlled burning and no action was taken by the Fire Service.

Harwood Moor

Time of call: 22:12

A crew from Scarborough were called to a fire in the open. This was controlled burning and no assistance was needed.

Lotherington Mews, York

Time of call:23:15

Crews from York and Acomb were called to a report of a shed on fire in the garden of a domestic property. This was a fire to a fence that caused two square metres of damage to the fence and scorching to the shed. Crews used a hose reel to extinguish this.

20th July

A19 North near Exelby Services

Time of call:05:07

Crews from Northallerton and Stokesley were called to a fire in a trailer. This was extinguished using two hose reels and breathing apparatus.

South Milford, Selby

Time of call: 06:45

Crews from Tadcaster and Selby were called to a fire alongside the railway track. This was a small fire in the open to a railway sleeper and crews extinguished this using a hose reel jet.

In addition to these incidents we also attended automatic fire alarm activations in York, Scarborough, Leeming Sherburn in Elmet and Flaxby. These were all false alarms.
