Incident Summary Night Shift Monday 9th July 2018

9th July 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.


We also attended a number of fire alarm activations which turned out to be false alarms.

Carleton, Skipton Time of call:17:57

A crew from Skipton were called to a car fire. This was caused by an engine fault and caused 100% damage to the car. Crews used 2 hose reel jets 2 sets of breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera.

Chapel Hill, Skipton Time of call: 18:03

Crews from Grassington and Skipton were called to a fire in the woods. The crews carried out a perimeter search and found the fire in was an unattended campfire. They used a knapsack sprayer and beater to extinguish this.

Terry Avenue, York Time of call : 18:53

A crew from York were called to a small fire in the open. This was a fire to books which was out on the Fire Brigade’s arrival.

Gargrave Road, Skipton Time of call: 18:55

A crew from Skipton were called to a report of embers left smouldering in the woods. This was an unattended campfire. The crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish this.

Petre Avenue, Selby Time of call: 20:28

A crew from Selby were called to a fire in the open. This was extinguished using a knapsack sprayer.

Heslington, York Time of call: 00:17

Crews from York and Acomb were called to a fire inside a premises. This was a fridge unit which was overheating, caused by an electrical fault. The fire was to the wiring only and was out on our arrival.
