Incident Summary 19 April Day Shift

19th April 2021

07:02 Clementhorpe York

A crew from York attended a small fire to a wheelie bin believed to have been caused by a dropped light. One hose reel jet used.

11:06 Pickering Road, Thorton-le-Dale

Crews from Pickering and Malton attended a fire to the front of shop with flats above. The fire affected the top of a bay window between some lead flashing and timber causing approximately 20% fire damage to supporting timber, it also caused medium smoke logging to flats above. The occupants of the shop used water from a garden hose on the fire before the arrival of crews. Fire crews used triple extention ladder, one hose reel jet, saw, thermal imaging camera, positive pressure ventilation fan and endoscope. The cause of the fire was a decorator using a flame paint remover.

11:29 Far Moor, Selside

Crews from Settle and Skipton attended a moorland fire measuring 5mx5m. It was out on their arrival so they carried out an inspection only. The cause is believed to be a dropped light

12:16 Filey- false alarm

12:24 Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate attended an incident involving a 6 year old girl trapped in a bedroom. Crews used a short extension ladder and small tools to release her

14:00 Rudby Bank, Hutton Rudby

A crew from Cleveland and one from Northallerton attended a fire to a wooden pegoda and decking measuring around 5x5m. The fire caused 100% damage to these items. The cause is believed to be reflection of sunlight from cds hung in the garden. Crews used one hose reel jet, small tools and thermal imaging camera.

14:03 Scarborough

Crews were requested to assist police with a person on a roof of a building. No action required by fire service

15:51 Lodge Cottage, Selby Road, York

A crew from York attended a minor two car road traffic collision. The drivers of both vehicles were out on the arrival of the fire crew. The crew carried out scene safety by moving the vehicles from the carriageway only.
