Incident Summary Night Shift Tuesday 5th March 2019

6th March 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 Time of call: 17:07         Oxford Street, Harrogate

 A crew from Harrogate attended a bin fire which was out on arrival crews inspected only.

 Time of call    17:21   Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate attended a report of a fire alarm sounding, on arrival this was found to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 Time of call: 17:28           Dallowgill Moor

A crew from Ripon responded to a report of fire seen in the open, after a thorough investigation of the are nothing was found

Time of call:  17:52         Langton, nr Malton

 A crew from Malton responded to a report of a fire at the roadside, this was believed to have been started deliberately and the crew used one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

Time of call:   18:18   Harrogate

 A crew from Harrogate were called to a bonfire which was believed to be out of control , on arrival this was found to be controlled burning under supervision.

 Time of call:  18:26   Hillam, nr Selby

A crew from Selby and Pontefract attended a report of a fire in the road way. This turned out to be fire to rubbish at the rod side and was extinguished using a hose reel jet by the Pontefract crew.       

Time of call:   19:44  Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough were called to carry out an inspection on a boat that had been towed into the harbour following a small engine fire, crews used a thermal imaging camera to confirm that there was no further fire or residual heat.

Time of call:   19:53   Gateforth, Selby

A crew from Selby attended a report of a chimney fire, on arrival the crew carried out a thorough inspection of the flue using chimney kit, lighting, ladders and a thermal imaging camera, they also extinguished the fire in a log burner.

Time of call:   20:26   Wighill, Tadcaster

A crew from Tadcaster attended a report of a two year old child trapped in a bathroom, they used a 9m ladder and ceiling hook to gain access and release the child who was unharmed.

 

Time of call:  00:44   Stirling Road, York

A crew from Acomb attended a report of a fire alarm sounding, on arrival this was found to be a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

Time of call:  04:43   East Barnby, Whitby

Lythe attended an automatic fire alarm at a domestic property, this was a false alarm caused by a faulty detector.

Time of call:  04:50   Carleton Road, Skipton

2 appliances from Skipton attended a fire inside a dryer at a nursing home. Crews extinguished the fire using 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and a  thermal imaging camera

Time of call:  04:50  Aberdeen Walk, Scarborough

An appliance from Scarborough attended an automatic fire alarm at a domestic property, this was a false alarm caused by fumes from a electronic cigarette.
