Incident summary Nightshift 15 June 2019

Incident Summary –Night shift – Saturday 15th June 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred:

Bullamoor Road, Northallerton

Time of call: 17:53

Northallerton attended a fire to trees and bushes in a field started by youths. Fire extinguished by buckets of water.

Cawood, Selby

Time of call: 18:36

2 appliances from Selby attended a kitchen fire in a residential premises following the occupants leaving shopping on a kitchen hob which was then accidentally switched on as they left the premises. Occupants had returned on Fire arrival and had extinguished the fire using a bucket of water. Fire crews also used a hosereel, tools to removed damaged cooker hood and a positive pressure fan to ventilate the premises.

New Lane, Huntington

Time of call: 18:56

Huntington responded to report of a car smoking from Police, following a two car RTC. This was found to be steam only and no action required.

Heslington, York

Time of call: 19:47

York responded to a fire alarm activation in an education establishment. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

Victoria Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 20:55

Police requested Fire assistance to remove a 4 metre loose section of fascia board which had become detached and rested on a bay window three storeys above a public pathway. Crews used the Aerial Ladder to safely remove the detached board.

Harrogate

Time of call: 21:34

Harrogate responded to a fire alarm activation in a medical establishment which was discovered to have activated due to vaping near the sensor.

Kirkbymoorside

Time of call: 00:39

Kirkbymoorside responded to a fire alarm activation in an education establishment with the cause due to insects in detector. 

Cardale Park, Harrogate

Time of call: 02:07

Harrogate attended an automatic fire alarm at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm due to a system fault.

Heslington, York

Time of call: 02:31

York attended an automatic fire alarm at an educational premises. This was a false alarm due to a breakglass point activation.

York Road Business Park, Malton

Time of call: 03:27

Malton attended an automatic fire alarm at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm due to a system fault.

Wiggington Road, York

Time of call: 03:27

York attended an automatic fire alarm at a medical establishment. This was a false alarm due to a steam.
