 Incident Summary Night Shift Wednesday 22nd May 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 Time of call: 1905 Eastfield, Scarborough

Scarborough attended and extinguished a small rubbish fire in the open, using backpack sprayers.

 Time of call: 2029 Kilburn, Thirsk

A number of  crews have been dealing with a fire in a property. All persons evacuated prior to arrival of fire crews. Crews have worked with hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. One crew have remained in attendance throughout the night/morning, damping down. Further details to follow.

This was a fire in a commerical building which is belived to have started outside at at the rear of the building and then spread to the property. However, fire investigations into the cause will be taking place over the coming days.

The fire caused damage to several rooms and the roof of the property.

Crews used jets, hose reels, the Aerial Ladder Platform, thermal imaging cameras, small tools, lighting and breathing apparatus at this incident.

Crews will be revisiting on the 22nd May along with fire investigation officers.

Time of call: 2105 Kellington, Selby area

Crews attended  and extinguished a fire to three shipping containers. One jet and two hose reels used to extinguish. . The containers were filled with hard wood logs, and the fire caused 100% fire damage to the containers and their contents. The cause is believed to be accidental fire spread

Time of call: 2153 Acomb area, York

Acomb crew attended and dealt with a fire to a small area of grassland. One hose reel and beaters used to extinguish.

Time of call: 0259 Crakehall, Bedale area

 Bedale and Leyburn crews attended and extinguished a fire on the ground floor of a residential property. One hose reel used to extinguish. The fire caused damage to a chair, carpet and curtains. The cause is still under investigation.

 We also attended automatic fire alarm activations in Selby, Boroughbridge, York and Acomb. These were all false alarms.
