Incident Summary Day Shift 21st October 2019 

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred:

 

 

 

ScarboroughTime of call 0742

 

Crew from Scarborough were mobilised to a report of a 63 year old male who had slipped on wet screed on the second floor. Crews used the MIBS stretcher to carry the male downstairs and into the ambulance. The male was suffering with tenderness to the head, neck, back and spine and was transported to hospital via road ambulance.

 

 

 

HawesTime of call 0838

 

Crews from Hawes and Ripon were mobilised to a report of a horse stuck between railings in a stable. On arrival crews found a large horse with its leg stuck between metal railings. Crews used hydraulic spreaders to release the horse’s leg and left the horse in the hands of the vet.

 

 

 

AcombTime of call 0852

 

Crew from Acomb were mobilised to a report of an alarm sounding at a commercial property, this was a false alarm due to system testing.

 

 

 

RiponTime of call 1101

 

Crews from Ripon and Masham were mobilised to a report of a JCB loader on fire. The fire is believed to have started in the engine bay of the vehicle and then spread to the cab area, causing 70% fire damage to the vehicle. Crews used 1 hose reel and 2 breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire along with a dry powder extinguisher.

 

 

 

SelbyTime of call 1145

 

Crew from Selby were mobilised to a report of 2 children locked in a car. On arrival crews found that one of the children had been able to wind the window down so that the car keys could be retrieved and the children could be released.

 

 

 

SkiptonTime of call 1159

 

Crews from Skipton, Tadcaster and Keighley were mobilised to a report of a 3 vehicle RTC. On arrival crews found that there was no action to be taken by fire service personnel. 

 

 

 

YorkTime of call 1252

 

Crew from Tadcaster were mobilised to a report of an alarm sounding at a residential property. On arrival this was found to be due to smoke from cooking. The flat was heavily smoke logged so crews used a PPV to ventilate. 

 

 

 

ScarboroughTime of call 1334

 

Crews from Scarborough and Filey were mobilised to a report of an alarm sounding at a residential property, this was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

 

 

StokesleyTime of call 1404

 

Crews from Northallerton and Stokesley were mobilised to a report of a car fire close to a petrol station. On arrival this was found to be a false alarm due to smoke coming from a vehicle. 

 

 

 

BenthamTime of call 1437

 

Crew from Bentham were mobilised to a report of a an alarm sounding at a commercial property, this was a false alarm due to a system test.

 

 

 

WhitbyTime of call 1648

 

Crew from Whitby were mobilised to a report of an alarm sounding at a residential property, this was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

 

 

YorkTime of call 1651

 

Crew from Huntington were mobilised to a report of an alarm sounding at a commercial property, this was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.
