Incident Summary – Day Shift Sunday 15th December

Road traffic collision – Scosthrop Lane, Settle

 

Time of call: 1035 hours

 

A crew from Settle has been called to a single vehicle road traffic collision which resulted in the vehicle going through a wall and coming to rest in a precarious position approx 10ft above a beck. No persons trapped or injured. Crew assessed the scene for safety and left the incident with the Police.

 

 

 

Chimney fire – Kettlewell

 

Time of call: 1044 hours

 

A crew from Grassington has dealt with a chimney fire in a domestic property. Fire was contained in log burner and flue. Crew used small tools. Cause believed to be accumulation of soot.

 

 

 

Road traffic collision – A59, Kettlesing

 

Time of call: 1048 hours

 

Crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough have dealt with a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. 1 female trapped in one of the vehicles. Released by fire crews and taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries. 1 other casualty received check up from paramedics at the scene. Crew used cutters, small tools and first aid kit.

 

 

 

Fire – Havers Hill, Eastfield

 

Time of call: 1246 hours

 

Crews from Scarborough and Filey have dealt with a fire in a fryer at an industrial property. The fire was extinguished by the staff using manual firefighting systems. Our fire crews carried out an inspection only using 2 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets and a thermal imaging camera. The cause is believed to be accidental.

 

 

 

False alarm – Gayle, Hawes

 

Time of call: 1247 hours

 

A crew from Hawes has investigated reports of a fire in a chimney at a domestic property causing fumes. A full inspection was carried out using a 9m ladder and thermal imaging camera. No fire or fumes found. Smell of soot believed to be due to rain water entering flue.

 

 

 

Fire – College Road, Ripon

 

Time of call: 1358 hours

 

Crews from Ripon and Boroughbridge have dealt with a small fire in a derelict 2 storey property. Crew used 1 hose reel, 2 breathing apparatus, thermal imaging camera, triple extension ladders and reciprocating saw. The cause is believed to be accidental by youths.

 

 

 

Fire – Borrowby

 

Time of call: 1536 hours

 

Crews from Northallerton and Thirsk are dealing with a chimney fire in a domestic property which has spread into the roof joists and lintel. 9m ladder, 1 hose reel jet, roof ladder and thermal imaging camera in use. **Incident ongoing – Update to follow**

 

 

 

False alarm – Hull Road, Cliffe

 

Time of call: 1543 hours

 

A crew from Selby has investigated reports of a fire in the open. This was controlled burning under supervision.
