Incident Summary Day Shift Thursday 21st March 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.



Time of call: 09:25

Foreshore Road, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough were called to an Automatic Fire Alarm. This was a false alarm caused by a fault on the system.

Sutton on the Forest

A crew from Easingwold were called to assist the ambulance service with lifting a casualty to the ambulance.

Street off Boroughbridge Road, York

A crew from Acomb were called to a report of a female who had become trapped in the first floor bedroom of her property with a young child downstairs. The crews were able to access the room using a triple extension ladder and move a wardrobe that had fallen and was obstructing the woman’s exit.

Malpas Road, Northallerton

A crew from Northallerton were called to an Automatic Fire Alarm sounding. This was a false alarm caused by an accidental activation of a call point.


Time of call: 15:32

High Stakesby area, Whitby

A crew from Whitby along with an Officer attend to a report of an Automatic Fire Alarm sounding with no response from the occupant. On arrival, crews found this to have been caused by an incense burner. Crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to rid the property of smoke.
